Resolved, that the House of Bishops, meeting at this 81st General Convention of The Episcopal Church in Louisville, Kentucky, rejoices in the election last April of Bishop Tracy Smith Malone as President of the Council of Bishops, the first Black woman to hold this office, praying to Almighty God for grace and wisdom for her in this new responsibility;

and further gives thanks to Almighty God for the leadership of the immediate past President of the Council, Bishop Thomas Bickerton;

and further, recognizing the unique historical relationship that exists between our two Churches, celebrates the clear commitment of our two Churches in our recent national gatherings to work intentionally towards the restoration of full communion.
