Floor Amendment 010 to A002 Site for the 83rd General Convention Proposed by Isaac Quelly

Resolved, the House of Bishops concurring,

That the following sites be considered for the 83rd General Convention (2030): Kansas City, Missouri (Diocese of West Missouri); Minneapolis, Minnesota (Diocese of Minnesota); Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Diocese of Pittsburgh); Portland, Oregon (Diocese of Oregon); and San Juan, Puerto Rico (Diocese of Puerto Rico).

That the 81st General Convention urges the Joint Standing Committee on Planning and Arrangements and the Office of General Convention to prayerfully consider the safety and wellbeing of all LGBTQ+ deputies, staff, and visitors when selecting the host location on of the meeting of the 83rd General Convention.

Including, but not limed to the following topics:

  • Histories of violence against LGBTQ+ people, especially people of Transgender experience.
  • Access to and the legality of life-saving gender-affirming healthcare.
  • Access to and the legality of the legal name and gender marker change processes.
