Floor Amendment 018 to A002 Site for the 83rd General Convention Proposed by Dante Tavolaro

Resolved, the House of Bishops concurring,

That the following sites be considered for the 83rd General Convention (2030): Kansas City, Missouri (Diocese of West Missouri); Minneapolis, Minnesota (Diocese of Minnesota); Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Diocese of Pittsburgh); Portland, Oregon (Diocese of Oregon); and San Juan, Puerto Rico (Diocese of Puerto Rico). And be it further

Resolved, that the 81st General Convention direct the Joint Standing Committee on Planning Arrangements and the Office of the General Convention to take into consideration the legal protections and safe guards for vulnerable members of our community attending General Convention. These legal protections should include, but are not limited to, the legality of life-saving medical care for persons who are or may be pregnant, legal protections for People of Color, and legal protections for LGBTQ+ individuals. And be it further

Resolved, that the aforementioned bodies prayerfully and seriously consider current rates of violence against the LGBTQ+ Community and Communities of Color when selecting potential host sites for General Convention.
