The House of Bishops informs the House of Deputies that on Jun 28, 2024 it considered resolution A245 (The Reverend Canon Michael Barlowe). The house acted to:

Resolved, that the House of Bishops, meeting at this 81st General Convention of The Episcopal Church in Louisville, Kentucky, expresses our sincere gratitude to the Reverend Canon Michael Barlowe, Executive Officer of the General Convention, who retires in August after the work of this General Convention is completed, from the office that he has held with such distinction for 11 years;
and further recognizes his considerable leadership in the face of huge change in the use of digital technology in the service of the Church and of the General Convention;
and further acknowledges his significant contribution to the management of the workings of the General Convention Office during the pandemic and his pivotal role in the organization of the 80th General Convention in Baltimore under unprecedented conditions;
and further remembers with thanksgiving his decades of varied and committed service to the Church as a priest before assuming his present office;
and further wishes him and his spouse, Paul, a long, happy, and healthy retirement, in which they may be of good cheer.
