A179 Express Gratitude for Krisita Jackson
Resolved, That the House of Deputies of the 81st General Convention give thanks for the life and witness of Krisita Jackson, who died on December 21st, 2023, in a hospital in Orlando Florida; and be it further
Resolved, That we remember and give thanks to God for her lifelong membership in The Episcopal Church as an active member in her local parish, the Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist, Orlando, founding member of the Canon Nelson Pinder Chapter of the Union of Black Episcopalians, past secretary of the Canterbury Conference Center Board, president of the Central Deanery and member of the Diocesan Board for the Diocese of Central Florida, and three time Deputy to General Convention, serving as a member and secretary of the Privilege and Courtesy Committee and as secretary of the Black Caucus; and be it further
Resolved, That we especially recognize her work in The Daughters of the King, on the Diocesan Assembly of Central Florida DOK Board, where she served as secretary, second vice president and president, and then as the first Black national president of the DOK in 2018, serving a four-year term and guiding the membership through the COVID-19 pandemic through powerful spiritual teaching, prayer and discussion; and be it further
Resolved, That we extend our condolences to her family, the people of St. John the Baptist, Orlando, and to the Daughters of the King, as we commend our sister Krisita to Christ's never-failing care and love, and into the glorious company of the saints in heaven.
